About Us

Kathy Smith
People thought I was mad as a hatter when I opened the Mad Hatter Hair Shoppe in the Hamlet of Cheshire in 2006. It was a big step creating Mad Hatter Hair Shoppe, having never been a salon owner before. After 17 years in business, it has been an exciting and rewarding journey.
With 30 years of experience, I feel it is important to stay current with the ongoing trends of the hair business. The thing I love most is the creativity and personal touch that I have with each client and the ability to make them feel better when they leave my chair.

I'm a Jersey girl (not like the TV show)! I am an honest and caring person. I wear my heart on my sleeve and I truly enjoy people of all ages.
My husband and I fell in love with the Finger Lakes while visiting friends. I joined Kathy in 2007 at the Mad Hatter Hair Shoppe bringing with me 30 years of experience. I continually take classes to keep up with the latest styles and trends.
I enjoy kayaking, exploring the wine trails, snowshoeing, and sitting by my fireplace with the beautiful views of South Bristol.
